The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, and is the only professional organization specifically for those individuals writing and illustrating for children and young adults in the fields of children’s literature, magazines, film, television, and multimedia. They provide education and support for these individuals and the community through our awards, grants, programs and events.

The Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) website describes the association as a non-profit association of scholars, critics, professors, students, librarians, teachers and institutions dedicated to the academic study of literature for children.
