Introducing... Research!

You have been assigned a type of research (book, encyclopedia, magazine, journal, or website). Click on the tab for your research item to see an example of the electronic version.

As you compare and contrast the print and electronic versions of your source, choose three of the questions below to share with the class:

1. What kind of information could you get from this type of source?

2. How could you see yourself using this type of source in an assignment?

3. Who writes or creates this type of source?

4. When was this source written/created? Does it matter how old this type of source is? (Hint - look at the top of the screen or the back of the title page of the item)

5. How can you tell if this type of source is credible? Is it credible?

6. Does this source contain facts, opinions, or both? Why is that important?
