A-Z Databases: Videos
The following HFC Library databases contain video clips as part of their collection. When searching a topic, filter results for videos pertaining to your topic. Most video results are short clips (2:00 or less) from quality sources.

Research Companion (ProQuest) This link opens in a new window
ProQuest Research Companion is a collection of videos and modules to help students do more effective scholarly research and support educators as they teach the core information literacy principles of finding, evaluating, and using information.

TED Talks
TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). Content is searchable/browseable by topic, language, and duration.
TED-Ed
TED-Ed — TED's youth and education initiative — offers a growing video library of original animated lessons and provides a platform for teachers to create their own interactive lesson plans. You can choose from stand-alone videos, or complete "lessons" that include a short video, follow-up questions, and a mini-quiz. Lessons are browseable by topic and can be filtered by grade level (there is a college/university option).
PBS
PBS has a great collection of free videos on a variety of subjects, including current events, local topics (Detroit-related), art, history, science, etc.
Crash Course
The Crash Course team has produced more than 15 courses to date, and these videos accompany high school and college level classes ranging from the humanities to the sciences. Crash Course transforms the traditional textbook model by presenting information in a fast-paced format, enhancing the learning experience.
