The Writing Center at HFC

The Writing Center at HFC offers writing support in an online format! To schedule an appointment, click here. The Writing Center offers synchronous online sessions (real time, audio/video optional) with an HFC Writing Center Respondent (adjunct faculty in ENG, ELI, and HUM)  as well as asynchronous feedback on writing projects submitted.

  • Please allow 24 hours for a response to your request.
  • The Writing Center at HFC remains open to ALL students at ANY stage of the writing process. To receive assistance, students simply need to provide assignment information and their work-in-progress.
  • Please note that the Writing Center is not a proofreading service.

Fall 2024 Hours of Operation

The Writing Center at HFC is open in-person and virtually for the Fall 2024 semester beginning Tuesday, September 3rd through Friday, December 13th. In-person sessions are available by appointment and on a drop-in basis in the Library (Building B). Virtual appointments are available through our online system, WCOnline.

9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Thursday
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday

Appointments can be scheduled in advance through our online system, WCOnline. Same-day drop-in sessions are available as well, no appointment necessary.

10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday

Our online system offers two types of appointments:

eTutoring (Email): Upload your draft and assignment instructions and receive written feedback from a faculty respondent within 24 hours of your appointment time.
Online (Live): Review your writing with a faculty respondent in real-time with audio, video, and screen-sharing options using WCOnline's virtual meeting module.
