Liberal Arts: Psychology: Articles

A guide to the literature of Psychology, including reference and textbooks, professional and scholarly journals, professional organizations and more.

Psychology in Periodical Articles

Articles are much briefer than books, and appear in regularly published periodicals, including popular magazines and scholarly journals. Articles contain newer and/or more detailed information, especially on a narrower topic.

Most of our articles are in digital Databases, many of them specialized by subject area.  Psychology is generally grouped with the Social Sciences., although its literature can extend into the Humanities and the Life Sciences.  EBSCO's OmniFile full-text allows you to take a multi-disciplinary approach to locating articles on complex topics.

Remember that an HFC library barcode is required to access all library resources. If you don't have a library barcode number on your ID card, please email Janel Mills (jmmills1@hfcc.edu) or use the chat or "Ask Us!" functions towards the lower right of the library's home page, Mondays through Fridays 8AM-4:30PM. You can also search additional databases on the Library's homepage under Research Databases.

Recommended: the Wilson/EBSCO service features databases devoted to specific disciplines, like the Social Sciences: well-researched articles from hundreds of scholarly journals and reputable magazines.

Best Bet: This DB is considered most relevant to the subject of Psychology.
